Company Auditions - Premiere Dance Academy

COMPETITION PARENT MEETING: 6/10 8:00PM

If your dancer is interested in trying out for one of our competitive teams, we will be having an informal meeting on Monday June 10th at 8:00PM. This meeting will be held on Zoom to make it convenient for everyone to listen in! This is for dancers new to competition at Premiere and the goal of the meeting will be to give a brief overview of the audition process, competition expectations and answer any questions about both our Company and Pom programs! AUDITION DETAILS

Please choose your dancers age below to find details for our upcoming Summer Auditions! Dancers should go by the age they will be on the first day of Auditions.

DETAILS

The Audition process for our 12-18 year olds includes 2 Parts; 2 days of classes during our audition Intensive and then a final group audition. On the first day of the intensive we will put the dancers into small groups and assign them a 30 minute audition time for June 19th or 20th. These groups will be posted by the time you pick your dancer up on the first day (Monday)!

If you are considering auditioning for a Company Team, please keep in mind that our selection will be based on participation in the audition intensive, audition scores, which include technique, style, execution, performance, and knowledge of the routines. If applicable, we will also take into consideration your 2023-2024 work ethic, classroom attitude and attendance. You are required to attend each day of the audition intensive in order to be judged properly. If makeup auditions are imperative, there will be a fee charged to cover instruction, admin and judging costs of $100

DRESS CODE: Dancers should be in a black leotard with pink footed tights for ballet with ballet shoes and hair in a bun on Monday. For Jazz and Tap classes on Monday and Tuesday, please wear fitted dance wear, jazz shoes or pirouettes and tap shoes and your hair in a bun. Make sure hair is slicked back.

Make sure to pack food and lots of water. Dancers will be given short breaks in between classes

SCHEDULE

Part 1: Audition Intensive (2 days-Dancers are required to attend both days)

Monday June 17th: 4:00PM-8:00PM

Ballet class and evaluation (ballet is first, come in ballet attire, dancers will have time to change after)
Technique class to learn the necessary skills they need to know for the Jazz and Tap portion of their audition.

Tuesday June 18th: 5:00PM-9:00PM

They will learn a short jazz routine as well as a short tap routine and also review skills from the previous day.

Part 2: Audition Group:

June 19th or 20th between 8:30AM-8:30PM. You will be assigned a 30 min slot for one of these days. (No special requests please)

Dancers are required to attend all of the above listed times

DRESS CODE: Please wear appropriate dance wear (ex: Leotards, tight fitted tops and shorts, etc) Jazz shoes, Pirouettes, or a similar shoe, Tap shoes & your hair in a bun.

Make sure to pack food and lots of water. Dancers will be given short breaks in between classes

SCHEDULE

Part 1: Audition Intensive (2 days-Dancers are required to attend both days)

Monday June 17th: 1:00-3:00PM

They will learn a short jazz routine and tap routine as well as skills in both styles

Tuesday June 18th: 10:00AM-12:00PM

They will review their routines and skills

Part 2: Audition Group:

June 18th between 1:00PM-5:00PM. You will be assigned a 30 min slot for this day. (No special requests please)
