COMPETITION PARENT MEETING: 6/10 8:00PM
If your dancer is interested in trying out for one of our competitive teams, we will be having an informal meeting on Monday June 10th at 8:00PM. This meeting will be held on Zoom to make it convenient for everyone to listen in! This is for dancers new to competition at Premiere and the goal of the meeting will be to give a brief overview of the audition process, competition expectations and answer any questions about both our Company and Pom programs! We will send a link out to anyone interested in attending.
POM TEAM INFO
Our Pom teams focus on precise, synchronized motions along with technical dance skills (such as jumps, turns, and leaps). Routines can encompass various styles of dance and will be geared towards a jazz style with some smaller amounts of Kick worked in. Pom focuses a lot on formations and visual elements as well. It is energetic and fun to perform and to watch!
- Rehearsals for Pom teams will take place on Sunday afternoon/evenings and will be approximately one hour in length
- All dancers on a Pom Team are also required to register for a weekly recreational class in either Tap/Jazz, Ballet or Lyrical to ensure they are receiving technique and training regularly.
- Pom teams are open to ages 8 and up.
- Teams will attend 3 regional competitions each season that have a Pom specific category. We will also attend a Nationals competition every other year- we will choose a Nationals that is held in the MN or WI area. 2024-2025 will be a Nationals season.
- Pom teams will have additional performance opportunities throughout the season such as performing in community events, fundraisers, assisted living facilities, etc.
AUDITIONS
You can now register for Auditions! Our Pom Auditions will be a one day process where we will evaluate the dancers as they are brought through a series of skills and learn a short dance combination in the studio! Dancers should audition according to the age they will be on the first day of Auditions.
SCHEDULE
Thursday June 20th
Ages 8-11: 12:00PM-2:00PM
Ages 12-18: 2:15PM-4:15PM
Dancers should wear form fitting dance wear (leggings, tank tops, sports bras, shorts, etc) and bring water and a small snack!
Cost for Auditions: $50
Results will be emailed out the following week!
